The Essie Summer 2010 collection has stolen my heart. I've retired "Lilacism" and "Greenport" and this shade has taken up residency on my fingers. Described as a "heart pounding red orange", Vermillionaire is my new fav shade.

I swear I'm still alive...and I have big news!!

So it's been awhile since I last blogged. I attribute it to the fact that I started a new job last week...YES, I am finally legitimately employed. I get health insurance, paid vacation and a few sick days. BIG leap from the place I worked before...Thank god. The only thing I miss about that job are my coworkers and the celebs.

I don't have to many life updates for all of you...with the exception of being extremely busy; this weekend I spent some time in Brooklyn. I felt extremely inadequate, totally not hip and yet extremely accepted by everyone. Never have I seen more babies in a bar, hipsters walking infants in $1500 bugaboo strollers and PBR cans than I can count.

It was definitely something I would do again.

Within the realm of all things dating (or lack there of), I received ANOTHER text from the guy I met on a train...I'm not sure I told this story, but without writing a telenovela...here's the story.

A a few months ago a guy sat next to me on the train. I went to college with him, we have met around 15 times, hung out at the same parties and I know his ex-gf...yet he proceeded to ask for my number, not realize we were already facebook friends, and text and bbm me until I think he got the hint that I was NOT interested in hearing about his "dreams" from the night before (I clearly attract the weirdos).Anyway, he texted me last week...clearly not getting that I wasn't interested the first 14 times he tried. I ignored.

MY FIRST GIVEAWAY-A TREAT FROM ESSIE!

In honor of reaching 50 followers, I have decided to do a little giveaway. It's nothing big, but I wanted to thank all of you for stopping by to check out the blog.

I became obsessed with this color a few weeks ago. It's called Chinchilly and its absolutely adorable. It resembles a color that Chanel is doing. It's a perfect Light Gray/Taupe color.

This is the color I posted about a few weeks ago. I actually had it on my nails when I worked with Lauren Conrad and she really liked it. It's a fun color for spring and looks great with short nails and perfect on toes!

Things I'm Loving Thursday...

I've been in a funk this week and I need to snap out of it! SO, I decided that in honor of today being Thursday, I am going to post a few things I am loving right now.

This is OPI's "You Don't Know Jacques". I swear it looks much prettier on your nails than it does in the bottle...PROMISE!

Chanel Lipstick in "LOVER". Red Lipstick is something that either screams, "sexy and classy" or "tranny hooker". I like to think I look sexy and classy , but it's all about finding the right shade. For me, Chanel Lover is it!

Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice Crossover Event! Like I said in a previous post, I have questionable taste in televison shows. Grey's and Private is something that my mom and I watch every week. I can barely contain my excitment that it is back on tonight!!!! Hopefully I will make it home in time.

It's cold and bleak in NY right now and the temperatures have hit a balmy 30 degrees. I am in complete winter coma right now and NEED to snap out of it! It didn't help that last year I was in Antigua for NYE...and was tan. To cure my winter blues, I have started looking at beach photos as both an incentive to hit the gym and to remind myself that warm weather is only a few months away.

ABC Comedy Wednesday's...aka Modern Family. I've talked about this show before, and I will talk about it again. It will be the only thing keeping me sane on Wednesday's now that GLEE is on hiatus until April (and moving to Tuesdays). If you aren't watching it...you should be!

What's the MATTE-r with a little color?

I have a standing date with my mom. Every Sunday we go to visit Esther, Kenny, Khloe and Karen at Golden Nails. They are super precious and we adore them. Having my nails done makes me feel complete and I’m always looking for the next new color to add to my growing collection.

I have my favorites…everyone does.

I love OPI’s “Russian Navy” and ESSIE’s “Wicked” or “Soul Mate”. I adore the burnt orange color of ESSIE’s “One of a Kind” and the nude shimmer of “Jackie Oh My!”, for when my nails want to feel a little more demure. This past summer I was all about the Bright Colors and Neon Hues. I’ve never been shy about painting my nails unconventional shades. I've religiously applied OPI’s “No room for the blues” and “A Grape Fit”. And wearing Essie’s “Punchy Pink” brought out my inner middle schooler.

This week, with a little beauty advice from the editors at Teen Vogue, I’ve decided that I’m going to jump head first into the new Matte Nail trend. Here are some colors I can’t wait to get my hands on. Try them and let me know what you think?

I’ve already used OPI’s “You don’t know Jacques”( Top Right) …heads up about using Matte color- you have to use Matte topcoat as well and the polish doesn’t stay on nearly as well as regular glossy color. It’s definitely worth the try if you are loving the trend as much as I am.
